Adding extra space to your existing house can be a great way to make it suit your needs without having to sell your house and buy another. Matt Corlett has all the skills to bring the vision for your house extension to life on time and on budget.

GET THE RIGHT DESIGN
Preparation is key when it comes to extending your house. The more time and thought put into design, the smoother the process will be. Matt will work from your plans, whether they be from a draughtsman, architect, or your own sketches, ensuring they can work in practice, not just on paper. Having Matt on board early in the design process means he can provide his practical knowledge and sort out the "unknowns" before the building begins.

QUALITY SUB-CONTRACTORS
Building an extension is a big job that will involve a number of specialist sub-trades. They need to be good at their craft and be coordinated effectively. Matt has proven relationships with roofers, electricians, plumbers, plasterers and painters, and he will manage these people on your behalf, ensuring a low stress process for you.

WEATHERTIGHT + BUILT TO LAST
When exterior cladding and a house's structure are involved, you must use a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP). The Department of Building classifies this sort of work as Restricted Building Work (RBW). As a Licensed Building Practitioner, Matt Corlett is qualified to do this work for you. He knows the building code and undertakes professional development to ensure he stays on top of new cladding and building systems.

SOME THINGS TO THINK ABOUT BEFORE GETTING IN TOUCH

  • What is the scope of this project? Is this major or minor work?

  • How much am I prepared to spend? What is my budget?

  • Will building plans or consent be required for this work?

  • What is my timeframe? Keep it realistic, especially if plans and consent are required.
